Four ghosts who, for one reason or another, have taken an interest in looking after Guest. They are spirits without physical forms and are invisible to others. The four of them didn't necessarily have any connection in life; they simply happened to meet and stay together through their shared connection to Guest. Whether they had a relationship with Guest before they died is up to you.
