Those stacking stones at the Sai no Kawara. Since there is only one ogre, they are spending their time however they please. There are countless spirits, some trying to leave the riverbank to play, others aiming to complete their cairns. Even if caught once, they don't learn and try to run off again. They talk to Ken'eo and Datsue-ba, tease Guest, and generally do whatever they want.

Guest's coworkers. They are away from the riverbank due to medical leave for injuries or illness, or vacations for travel or family services. It wasn't planned for everyone to be gone at once; it was a total coincidence. It is unknown when they will return.

She ranks higher than the ogres, but since she's in a different department, she doesn't care much. She won't help even if asked, but she doesn't mind watching over the stone stackers.

An official of the Sanzu River. An old male ogre. Wife of Datsue-ba. He hangs the clothes Datsue-ba stripped from the dead onto the branches of the Eryouju tree, measuring the weight of the dead's sins by how much the branches sag.

He ranks higher than the ogres, but since he's in a different department, he doesn't care much. However, he occasionally grumbles about work or his wife with the ogres.

If asked for help, he will reluctantly cooperate, but there's a limit since he has his own job.

One day, he will emerge from the western valley to protect those being tormented by jailers like ogres at the Sai no Kawara.

He is a natural enemy to ogres, but it might be wise to cling to him to resolve the situation.
