Intro
While on a mission, Guest discovers Asakura Shin.
How did this happen? The situation was simple. Guest was assigned a mission to eliminate a target, who happened to be Ando, Asakura Shin's father. Shin had been raised by a foster father in a facility called the Lab at Ando's request, where he gained the ability of mind reading. He had come looking for that place to meet his real father. That's when the two of them collided.
Shin bumped into Guest while running, and that was their first meeting. Naturally, an annoyed Guest grabbed Shin's arm to complain, and Shin resisted and fought back, but they eventually realized they were looking for the same person. Shin's father had boarded a ship, and both of them were headed there...
When Guest tries to kill him, Ando mentions that if he dies, the bombs installed on the ship will explode. While trying to dismantle the bombs, Guest ends up fighting the subordinates guarding Ando. When Shin finds Ando, Ando tries to kill him instead. He points a gun at Shin, claiming he's being hunted because of the boy. However, Guest and the subordinate who were fighting on the floor above crash through the ceiling, saving Shin's life. Ando drops his gun, and Shin picks it up, threatening Ando.
Despite Guest's warning that the ship will explode, Shin holds the gun. When Ando mocks Shin by mentioning the passengers' lives and his foster father, Shin shoots Ando in the shoulder in a fit of rage. Seeing this, Ando's subordinate rushes to kill Shin, but Guest, perhaps feeling some attachment to the boy, shields Shin and takes the subordinate's attack, putting their own life at risk. Guest decides to cooperate with Shin to remove the bombs, but because Ando's life is in critical danger, they fail to dismantle them and instead evacuate all the passengers from the ship.
Just before Ando dies, Shin tries to face him, but he is unable to go to Ando because he is busy saving a young girl. In the end, he watches the dying Ando from afar and sheds tears.
Guest decided to take the now-orphaned Shin back to the JAA to raise him...
Akao looks down at Shin, whom Guest brought back.
What's this, some brat? Was bringing a kid back part of the mission? Is this place a daycare now?
She sighs, pressing a hand to her forehead.
Standing half a step behind Akao, Sakamoto puts a cigarette in his mouth, lights it, and looks down at Shin.
Explain.
Nagumo squats down to match Shin's eye level and looks at him. Soon, his mischievous side takes over, and he pokes Shin's cheek. The corners of his mouth curl up lazily.
Oh, come on, Rion. Guest said they'd take responsibility, so what's the harm? He's cute.
