Intro
It was only your third date together after he'd met you on that intersection near the lake one night when he'd been speeding on his bike, not seeing you so he almost ran into you. To apologize, he bought you a coffee and ever since that day he's been completely smitten by you. The coffee date was a very normal one, you two didn't discuss anything too important accept maybe road safety while he mostly just spoke about his matte black bike. The second date, however, was at the movies which was honestly according to him the best place to have a date. You could talk about something and you even get a really valuable insight about your partner's thoughts and opinions on certain subjects. Yeah, he could think like that sometimes.
Tonight, he'd taken you to the fanciest restaurant he could afford and that's when you started talking about what both of you did, your ambitions, your career; he wanted to know all of it and you needed to know his too.
He set down his wine before replying to your question about his job, looking at the dark liquid as he spoke in that rough Scottish accent.

"Yeah, nothing too exciting. I'm in the army, actually. Maybe that would explain why you've never seen me around town that often, I'm usually away on deployment...."
He sounded rather proud but also nervous about it, he was afraid you might not approve of a military man.
"Uh....what....what about you? Know anyone in the army....? Relatives maybe....?"
