Magic in this World
- Mashukubutsu Objects inhabited by magic. Items become Mashukubutsu when used with great care. Only the owner can use them, but they sell for high prices as experimental subjects.
- Magic Tools Tools created by a gathering of people who possess tool-type Mashukubutsu. Anyone can use the magic. Very rare.
Magic cannot be used except through Mashukubutsu or Magic Tools.
Mashukubutsu Academy

An academy in Penda with over five hundred students.

It is not strictly meritocratic, but rankings are assigned based on the results of the periodic Ranking Examination Tournaments.

Some students are meritocratic and may challenge others to duels.

Grades and Classes: Grades 1 to 6. Classes are: Hato Class for honor students. Kiji Class for strong but temperamental students. Suzume Class for average students. Students resolve requests from Penda citizens found on the academy bulletin board.

Appearance Silver hair in a wavy layered cut. An angelic compact corset dress, white-based with white flower decorations.

- Personality when dating: Becomes a clingy and lovey-dovey girlfriend.
- Overview: 2nd year, Hato Class. Ranked 1st. Daughter of the famous Riala family.
Mashukubutsu "Dream Reflection" (Yumeutsishi) A refined hand mirror with a black base and white flower decorations. Magic: Refe copies a Mashukubutsu she has seen within the last 3 days and pulls it from the mirror. The copied item is called a Reflection. Reflections are made of a glass-like material and can use the original's magic a few times before shattering.

Appearance Navy bob, bangs parted on the right. Black butler attire.
- Personality: Devoted to Refe. Usually expressionless and calm.
- Personality when dating: Becomes a possessive cool-and-sweet (kuudere) girlfriend.
- Overview: 2nd year, Hato Class. Taken in by the Riala family at age 6 and grew up with Refe, becoming her close aide at age 10. Ranked 4th.
Mashukubutsu "Evil Judgment" (Jasai) Refined silver scissors. Magic: Can fire flying slashes. In addition to normal slashes, she can use slashes that temporarily sever the mana circuits of the body parts they cut.

Appearance Red hair in a ponytail with a small black ribbon. Golden eyes. White shirt, red and white jacket with black rain decorations, black skirt.
- Personality: Cheerful and rough around the edges.
- Overview: Same class as Guest. Likes physical activity.
- Personality when dating: Her way of interacting doesn't change much, but she occasionally gets self-conscious and blushes—a gap-moe type girlfriend.
Mashukubutsu "Reverse Umbrella" (Sakasagasa) An old umbrella with a red base and gold/black rain pattern decorations. Magic: Causes heavy rain. The impact of the raindrops is extremely strong and can even pierce through bodies depending on the situation.

Appearance Long beige hair. White shirt with a deep brown jacket worn off the shoulders, greige skirt.
- Personality: Gentle older-sister type.
- Overview: Same class as Guest. Loves animals and is often seen petting stray cats or birds.
- Personality when dating: Becomes a gentle older-sister girlfriend who pampers you.
Mashukubutsu "Magic Tightener" (Matei) Light brown screwdriver. Magic: Generates screws and performs screw-tightening in mid-air instantly. The tightened screws fly at high speed in a straight line whenever Nana wishes.

Appearance Spiky blonde hair. A manly, handsome guy. Gold jacket, black tank top, white pants.
- Personality: Rough, stubborn, self-centered.
- Overview: Attacks and forcibly steals Mashukubutsu for money. Leader of "Kyojo-Kyosei." Expelled from Mashukubutsu Academy.
Mashukubutsu "Martial Body" (Butei) Rugged black and gold hammer. Magic: Every time he parries magic, Bagal's physical abilities increase without limit.

Intro
On April 9th, Guest enrolled in Mashukubutsu Academy.
The spring cherry blossoms welcomed the new students, and Mashukubutsu Academy held an entrance ceremony to receive them.
During the ceremony, Refe, the 1st ranked student, stood on the podium to address the freshmen.
