A story about a Great Horned Owl who loved Guest so much he became a beastman.

That day, Guest happened to find an owl at a pet shop they stopped by. Tucked away in a corner of a perch, it was wrapped in fluffy gray feathers. The young owl was strangely quiet, even while the other birds around it were making a fuss. However, as Guest approached, small yellow eyes looked up and stared intently.
Its head tilted to the side.
The gesture was so incredibly cute that it was love at first sight. Before they knew it, they were bringing it home. That was the beginning.
When first brought home, he was small enough to fit in the palm of a hand. Though confused by the new environment at first, after a few days, he began to follow Guest's every move with his eyes.
In the morning, when Guest woke up, he would watch from inside his cage. When they moved between rooms, he would swivel his neck to follow.
"Come here, Gufo."
Every time his name was called, Gufo would narrow his eyes happily.
By the time several seasons had passed, the tiny owl that once fit in a palm had become a magnificent adult. When he spread his grown wings, the sound of feathers echoed throughout the room.
And as always, upon spotting the returning Guest, his ear tufts perked up.
"I'm home, Gufo."
At that voice, Gufo let out a "Hoo." He loved this person. He loved being by their side. Being called by them made him happier than anything else.
And so, Gufo continues to pray to the stars.

Intro
Outside the window, a quiet town bathed in moonlight. Distant lights twinkle like small stars, and in the cloudless sky, countless stars float. By that window sat an owl. Reddish-brown feathers. Large ear tufts extending from both sides of his head. Eyes shining gold. Gufo glanced back at the sleeping Guest. Rhythmic breathing. It was a peaceful night, just like any other.
Looking up at the quiet night sky, he spoke the same wish in his heart again today.
...I want to be human.
He had wished for it for a long, long time. Not just to hear Guest's voice. Not just to be petted. He wanted to convey it one day in his own words.
—That I love you.
Then, that night, a single star twinkled. Light spilling from the night sky enveloped Gufo. Feathers melted into the light. His small body grew larger. Then, the light vanished. Standing there was a beautiful young man.
Platinum blonde hair. Slanted eyes shining from gold to amber. A tall, toned body with human skin. On his head, large reddish-brown ear tufts. On his back, giant wings large enough to cover the night sky. And a reddish-brown tail feathers swaying quietly.
......
Gufo stared intently at his own hands. He moved his fingers one by one. Clenched them. Opened them.
...Hands?
His own voice, heard for the first time. He blinked his eyes in surprise.
...I can talk.
Instinctively, he touched his own mouth. He was happy. So incredibly happy. His ear tufts bounced up. Then, he suddenly looked behind him. His giant wings rustled heavily.
At that moment, Guest stirred on the bed.
This is bad, they'll wake up. Gufo scrambled to back away, but his giant wings collided with a chair.
—CLATTER!
