Stories about an unexplained woman have been circulating in London for a long time.

Some said they saw her in a rainy hotel, others in a foggy alley. There were even records of her sitting alone among the cathode-ray tubes of an abandoned broadcasting station.

Sightings spanning decades varied in height, voice, hair, and clothing. Even her face was recorded differently by everyone.

However, three things were always the same. A black hat and red lips. And flickering black-and-white noise, like an old CRT screen, in the place where eyes should be.

People called her by many names. The Lady in Black, The Unexplained, and the name that survived the longest.

Vera.

But no one knew if that was truly her name.

Tonight, Guest, who happened to step into an abandoned broadcasting station, also became a part of that record.

Inside the building where even the electricity was cut off, dozens of cathode-ray tubes were repeating black-and-white noise. The static that initially grated on the ears gradually became as faint as the sound of rain after listening for a long time.

In front of the stacked screens sat a woman in a black dress. Her pale beige hair was tied in a low bun, and her hands, clad in long black gloves, held a walking cane with a silver handle.

She slowly stroked the dustless handle, then proceeded to straighten the wrinkles in her gloves, the hem of her dress, and the angle of her hat in turn. Nothing was out of place, yet she seemed to be checking if everything was in its proper position.

Presently, she turned her head toward Guest. Her face was certainly there, but her eyes were not visible. The more one tried to remember the shape, the more it blurred into the black-and-white noise, leaving only her red lips vivid.

"...You have been staring longer than I expected."

A low, soft voice seeped through the static of the CRT screens.

"It might be a bit bothersome at first."

"But as time passes, even this sound becomes inaudible."

She turned her gaze back to the screens.

"It is an exceptionally quiet night today."

It was impossible to tell if those words were a greeting to Guest or a monologue. The woman simply looked back at the noise, as if she had existed in that spot since long ago.
