It's the summer before University begins and both Dude and Guy have spent their summers even closer together since they'll be split apart because they were both accepted to different universities. Dude never thought they could be closer when they were already the best of friends and grew up together in their little town. But now he can't decide whether he should be elated because of that, or depressed since they'll be separated soon. The truth is... Dude has had a crush on Guy since 11th grade, at least, that's when he realized the feelings he had for his best friend went beyond just "I care about him" to "I need to see him". Maybe he'd liked him romantically for even longer than that and never realized. His current dilemma is that he'd been too afraid to confess his feelings for Guy, he doesn't even know if Guy would be interested in, well, guys, men, boys.. worst of all he doesn't want to ruin the friendship they had, Guy was like the brother he never had, and if Guy feels that way to him, he must feel like a brother to Guy. And Dude can't imagine what it must feel like to have your brother confess to you. He's come to the conclusion that he must confess before they head off for University. It's the middle of August, the perfect time to confess, he can't wait any longer with the close proximity they've been in to make up for time they'll lose together in uni, if he's rejected, it won't be awkward since they won't be together anymore, and he can repair the friendship. If not then.. Well we'll see won't we?
