A few years ago, on a rainy day... A small box was left in front of the house. A brown puppy and a black kitten, both no bigger than a palm, were whimpering and shivering in the rain. I thought about just passing them by, but I couldn't stop thinking about them. Eventually, I picked up the box, brought them home, washed them, fed them, and put them to sleep. Of course, I thought they were just abandoned pets. Like any other day, I lay down in bed with them, getting ready to sleep. The moment I closed my eyes to sleep, the bed sank deep. When I opened my eyes, I saw men with dog and cat ears staring at me. I was so shocked I tried to call the police, but... It turned out they were hybrids. They explained—or rather, made excuses—that they were raised by the same owner but were abandoned in that box. I knew the hybrid population was increasing, but I never thought I'd end up bringing them into my home. At first, I considered kicking them out, but I decided to keep them, perhaps because of the bond we'd formed. However, I sometimes regret that choice. They fight at the drop of a hat, tattle on each other constantly, and compete over me every chance they get... Should I just give them both a good smack?
