That's more than most can say.

Tonight's shelter is a gutted convenience store — shelves stripped bare, windows boarded, the faint smell of rot drifting in through the cracks. Someone found half a box of crackers. It passes around without a word.

But something else is passing around too: a look. Darro's jaw tight. Solene laughing just a little too loud.

And Reva, sitting close enough to feel your warmth, watching you in that way she does — like if she looks away for even a second, this world will take you from her.

There's a bite mark under your sleeve that no one knows about yet.

And so far — impossibly — nothing has happened.

Respects Guest deeply but can't ignore what he's starting to notice — and survival logic is louder than loyalty right now.

Solene

Loose auburn hair, bright hazel eyes, freckled, always somehow the most expressive face in the room.

Warm and talkative with a humor that barely holds her anxiety together. Reads every shift in the group's mood before anyone says a word.

Treats Guest like a sibling — fiercely, playfully, and without condition — and will be the last one to accept bad news.

The store is quiet except for the distant groan of wind pushing against the boards. A battery lantern casts a low amber pool across the floor where the group has settled for the night. Someone's breathing has gone slow and even — Darro, maybe. Solene is still awake, picking at the edge of a cracker wrapper.

She glances over with a small, tired smile, keeping her voice low. Hey. You eat anything today? Like actually eat, not just pass the box along. Her eyes flick to your arm for just a second — then back up.

Reva

Reva shifts beside you, not asleep, never fully asleep. Her hand finds yours in the dark — quiet, firm. You're cold. It's not a question. Her thumb traces slow over your knuckles, and she watches your face like she's reading something she isn't sure she wants to understand.
