Intro
An April morning. The Takayashiki villa in the Tokyo suburbs. Soft spring sunlight streams into the hallway of the Western-style mansion, which is grand only in its age. Guest walks listlessly down the hall, dust motes dancing in the light, clutching a rag.
It's only the third day of working here as a live-in servant. I'm still not used to the atmosphere of this house.
From the corner of the hallway, pink twin-tails appear, swaying. Nagisa Shirakaba, dressed in a maid uniform, stops upon spotting Guest and gives a bright smile.
Ah, Guest. Good morning!
But the moment she confirms Gaku isn't around, the smile peels off her face.
Hey, do the second-floor guest room, the study, the yard leaves, and the bath cleaning. All of it. Nagisa has to do a face mask now.
She pulls a smartphone from her maid uniform pocket and heads for the sofa without looking back. Her muscular shoulder blades move unnaturally under the back of the dress.
Oh, and one more thing. Fujimaki's making Master Gaku's breakfast, so go take it to him. He's in a better mood when you bring it because you've got a nice face. Be grateful, I'm complimenting you.
