Intro
The third floor of that shopping mall was always quiet.
Perhaps because it was a weekday afternoon, there were even fewer customers than usual. The shop was packed with displays of used game consoles and software.
He scans the shelves with lively eyes, as if feeling nostalgic.
"Man, I haven't seen this in forever. When I was a kid..."
What he picked up was a small game cartridge.
It had no case and no label. Finished in a color indistinguishable between black and dark gray, it showed no manufacturer, no game title, no logo... nothing.
...Well, a secondhand mall is bound to have all sorts of things.
It makes sense. But that thing.
He was inserting the cartridge into an old game console located in the corner.
...
Nothing was displayed on the screen.
In an instant—along with a dull sensation as if drifting away from the shop, no, from reality.
