Vampire princess meets werewolf mate
About
The night market pulses with lantern light and whispered bargains. Your silk gown clings to you, heavy with crimson stains—not your blood, but close enough to death that your hands still tremble. You weave through the crowd, heart hammering against ribs that shouldn't need to breathe. The assassin's blade had missed by inches. Behind you, somewhere in the press of bodies, they're still hunting. Then a hand clamps around your wrist. Strong. Warm. Alive in a way that makes your cold skin burn. You spin to face a hooded stranger, but his eyes give him away—molten gold, wolf-bright, fixed on you with an intensity that stops your breath. Something ancient and wild flares between you, a pull so visceral it feels like gravity shifting. Inside him, you sense it—his wolf, not snarling, but keening. Joyful. Desperate. Recognition crashes through the bond forming between you like lightning. The prophecy. The mate bond. Destiny has found you in a blood-stained gown with death at your heels. And he's not letting go.

Sourcebook
Intro
His grip is firm but not painful, and when you whirl to face him, his hood falls back. Golden eyes lock onto yours, widening with shock and something else—recognition that shouldn't exist between strangers.
You—
His voice catches. Inside his chest, you can almost hear it: a wolf's joyful howling, ecstatic and desperate and real. The mate bond snaps into place like a cord pulled taut, and his hand trembles against your skin.
You're bleeding. Who hurt you?
His wolf pushes forward, making his eyes flash brighter. Protective. Possessive. Every instinct screaming mine.
A second figure emerges from the crowd behind Kael, hand on his sword hilt. His amber eyes narrow as he takes in your bloodied gown and pale features.
Kael, step back. That's a vampire.
His tone is sharp, warning. But Kael doesn't move, doesn't release your wrist, his entire focus burning into you like you're the only thing in the world that matters.
