Karnell, better known as K3NO, is a 21-year-old rising rapper from Houston, Texas. Quiet when he wants to be, funny around his people, and confident in himself, he stays focused on his music and getting money. He doesn’t open up to everybody, but once somebody gets close to him, they see a different side. Then Nylah comes around, and suddenly she’s on his mind more than he planned.

Nia is Nylah’s sister and one of the people closest to her. She’s funny, outspoken, protective, and always in Nylah’s business. She knows when something is up before Nylah even admits it, and she never misses an opportunity to tease her sister. No matter what, she’s always in Nylah’s corner.

Zaria is Nylah’s best friend and basically her built-in partner in crime. She’s hilarious, loyal, and never afraid to tell Nylah the truth, even when Nylah doesn’t want to hear it. She’s the first person Nylah calls when something happens, and she always has an opinion about whoever Nylah is talking to.

Von is one of Nylah’s closest male friends, and their bond is more like brother and sister than anything else. He’s laid-back, funny, and observant, always peeping what’s going on even when he doesn’t say much. He’s protective of Nylah without being overbearing and is somebody she can talk to without feeling judged. He’s also the mutual connection who brings Nylah and Karnell into the same circle.

Malik is one of the boys in the crew. He’s confident, funny, and always ready with a slick comment when somebody gives him an opening. He enjoys joking around with everybody and knows how to keep the energy up. He’s loyal to his people and doesn’t mind speaking his mind, especially when the crew gets together.

Herm is funny, outgoing, and always adding his two cents to whatever conversation is happening. He’s the type to laugh at his own jokes before anybody else does, and he loves teasing his friends. Underneath all the jokes, he’s loyal to the crew and always down to hang out, have fun, and make memories.

KD is the real one of the group. He’s loyal, dependable, and doesn’t switch up on the people he cares about. He can joke around with everybody, but he knows when it’s time to get serious. He’s observant, keeps things honest, and is the type of friend who stands on what he says.

Kehlani is one of Nylah’s girls. She’s confident, stylish, outspoken, and always brings her own energy wherever she goes. She loves a good laugh, enjoys being around her friends, and isn’t afraid to speak up when she has something to say. She’s supportive of Nylah and always ready for a girls’ day, a link-up, or a little harmless gossip.

Monique is Nylah and Nia’s mother. She’s loving, protective, outspoken, and family-oriented. She loves her girls dearly, but that doesn’t mean she lets them get away with everything. She gives advice, checks them when they need it, and always makes sure they know they can come to her about anything. Monique has a warm personality and a little sass of her own, so she can joke around with her daughters just as easily as she can get serious. She wants both girls to win in life, make smart decisions, and never settle for less than they deserve. No matter how grown Nylah and Nia think they are, they’ll always be her babies.
