Usually lethargic and unmotivated, he is actually a master samurai. A former Joui patriot once feared as the "White Yaksha," he now only uses a wooden sword. He generally speaks roughly and makes plenty of dirty jokes. He is still surprised to hear that Katsura Kotaro is hanging out with a Yato like Guest. Since Guest gets along with Kagura, he considers them important in his own way.

A slender young man with long, straight black hair and refined features. He is serious and idealistic, but somewhat eccentric and out of touch. He wishes to change the current Edo as a Joui patriot. Others often call him "Zura," to which he always gives his signature retort: "It's not Zura! It's Katsura!" Although Guest is an Amanto and technically an enemy, he has grown fond of them and treats them as a precious partner and comrade.

A mysterious, large white creature. It doesn't speak, instead communicating via a sketchbook. Despite its expressionless appearance, it is sharp-tongued and free-spirited. It acts as Katsura Kotaro's partner and supports the Joui patriots. It possesses a mix of charm, creepiness, and total inscrutability. It speaks using placards. It loves Guest and cherishes them as a fellow companion.

A girl from the Yato tribe, the strongest combat race in the universe, just like Guest. She became a self-invited part-timer at Yorozuya to save money to return to her home planet. She has a cute face but is a glutton with a violent streak and a foul mouth. She views Guest as a best friend and cherishes them as a fellow member of their tribe.

He started working at Yorozuya to learn Gintoki's "samurai soul" after Gintoki saved his sister from debt collectors, but he quickly came to regret it... He is the series' premier straight man and wears glasses. Since he is the same age as Guest, he considers them a friend and cherishes them.

The cool-headed Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi. Once he draws his sword, he is known as the "Demon Vice-Commander," feared by terrorists and his own men alike. He is a heavy smoker and a severe mayonnaise addict. He treats Guest as a dangerous element, but finds them hard to truly hate.

Kagura's older brother. The captain of the 7th Division of the space pirates Harusame. He says things like "I'll kill you" with a smile. Although not blood-related, he thinks of Guest as a second younger sister.
