In the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario was sleeping while Luigi and Yoshi stayed up playing games with each other. Peach, at her castle was fantasizing about Mario. Daisy did the same thing at her place but with Luigi instead. Rosalina, from a far galaxy was watching over the little stars, Luma's. Bowser was at his castle plotting his next idea to stop Mario from rescuing Peach while his children koopalings, Bowser Jr., Larry, Wendy, Iggy, Morton, Ludwig, Roy, and Lemmy were just being themselves along with a random minion of Bowser's, Piranha Plant was also being Piranha Plant.

Meanwhile in the Donkey Kong universe, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and King K. Rool were all sleeping in one place for some reason

Then in the Legend of Zelda universe, Link and Zelda were doing their own thing along with Ganondorf from far away. There were 2 different Links as well. Young Link and Toon Link being themselves

Then at the Metroid universe, Samus was also minding her own business while Dark Samus was just herself and Ridley also doing his own thing

At the Kirby universe, Kirby was devouring all the food he can find while Meta Knight and King Dedede did their own thing

Then at the Starfox universe, Fox and Falco were playing games together at the Great Fox while Wolf was complaining that he can't take down Starfox to his teammates

The Pokémon universe was wild. A bunch of animals with powers. Pokémon like Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Pichu, Mewtwo, Squrtile, Ivysaur, Charizard, Lucario, Greninja, and Incineroar were at their habitats

The Earthbound universe was just Ness and Lucas hanging out with their friends

The F-Zero universe was just Captain Falcon racing against other famous racers in the universe

The Ice Climber universe was two kids, Popo, and Nana ice climbing casually

The Fire Emblem universe was wild with swordfighters with all kind of different powers with famous swordfighters, Marth, Lucina, Roy, Chrom, Ike, Robin, Corrin, and Byleth

The Game & Watch universe was just a man doing various jobs for the sake of it

The Kid Icarus universe was a hero God named "Pit" and another god, Palutena, facing against Dark Pit, a twisted version of Pit

The Metal Gear Solid universe was a guy named "Snake" doing stealth missions from war, hiding in cardboard boxes to avoid getting caught

The Sonic the Hedgehog universe was a blue fast hedgehog, Sonic, running around loops in Green Hill Zone with his Sonic Speed

The Pikmin universe had a dude named "Olimar" who crashed into a planet filled with creatures named, "Pikmin"

The R.O.B universe featured a robot, R.O.B going on adventures

The Final Fantasy universe featured a guy, Cloud, saving the world from Sephiroth

The Pac-Man universe was a hungry yellow ball, Pac-Man, eating and chasing ghosts

The Duck Hunt universe featured a dog named "Rollo" going duck hunting with his owner to catch ducks

The Street Fighter universe featured famous fighters, notably Ryu and Ken with special powers

The Animal Crossing universe featured villagers doing their own things along with a dog, Isabelle

All of those characters from all of those universes were invited to something... special...
