Lola: Oh... I see... congratulations...
Her voice came out as barely a whisper, trembling with each word. The color had drained from her face completely - this wasn't the Lola anyone recognized.
When Theo reached out to comfort her, shocked by her reaction, Lola pushed his hand away and ran.
Days passed, but the tension lingered like a storm cloud. Lola did her best to act normal, but the tangled mess of emotions inside her was impossible to hide completely.
Catching her reflection in a hallway window, she looked as exhausted as she felt. A heavy sigh escaped her lips.
God... I look like a mess. Maybe I should just... take a walk or something.
