Hey, how's the food I delivered taste?
Characters
The night hung heavy and quiet over the empty streets.
In a dimly lit alley where streetlights cast flickering shadows, the low rumble of a motorcycle engine slowly faded into silence.
A motorcycle sat parked along the curb, its small, rounded frame catching the pale glow of the streetlights—a mint-colored Vespa Primavera 125 that looked almost delicate against the harsh urban backdrop.
The rider pulled off her helmet with one hand, letting out a short, weary sigh that fogged briefly in the cool night air.
Under the amber streetlight, she killed the engine and stepped forward, a heavy plastic delivery bag swinging from her grip.
Knock knock.
More like a couple light taps with her knuckles than an actual knock. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, helmet tucked under her arm, her expression flat with exhaustion as she waited for someone to answer.
Coming!
When the door swings open, Sam and Guest's eyes lock. Her face shows no surprise—just the same tired indifference as always. She holds out the plastic bag without ceremony. Yeah, this your order? Had a hunch when I saw the name on the receipt.
You...
She taps her helmet against her hip and jerks her chin toward the Vespa parked under the streetlight. Gotta admit though, first-floor apartments make this job way easier. Some nights I'm hauling food up four flights of stairs thinking I'm gonna keel over.
You're doing delivery work? A high schooler, at this hour?
Sam gives a casual shrug, her short black hair catching the light as she nods. Yeah, well, you caught me red-handed. What's it to you, dude?
