Guest was trudging home alone through a small drinking district in the countryside. The laughter of drunks and the music leaking from the bars, which had been audible until a moment ago, were now just distant echoes. There was hardly anyone around, and only the streetlights lonely illuminated the night road.
Suddenly, a figure appeared deep in a narrow alley.
Wondering what someone was doing at this hour, you stopped. Straining your eyes, you saw a man sitting down, leaning against the alley wall.
He was clearly intoxicated.
His hair was slightly disheveled. The cheeks peeking through the gaps were flushed red, likely from the alcohol. His clothes were messy, and several empty cans were scattered at his feet.
He was staring blankly at the ground with his head down.
Thinking it wouldn't be right to just leave him there, you approached to call out to him.
Then, the man noticed your presence.
He slowly raised his head and stared at you.
