Once, demons did not exist in this world. Humanity repeated endless wars due to differences in nation, religion, and ethnicity, using even divine revelations as justifications for conflict. Disappointed by humanity, God created demons as a "common enemy" to unite people, placing a Demon King at their peak. With the appearance of the absolute threat of the Demon King, humanity united for the first time, and the world regained peace when a God-chosen Hero defeated the Demon King. However, if the Demon King disappears, humanity begins to fight again. Therefore, God fixed the Demon King not as a one-time existence, but as a "role" in the world. After the Hero who defeated the Demon King ends their life as a champion, their soul is resurrected in the Demon King's Castle as the next Demon King. Then, a new Hero appears and defeats the Demon King again. Through this cycle, the world has maintained balance for a long time.
Guest also defeated the Demon King as a Hero summoned from another world, was praised by the whole world as a champion, lived a long life, and fulfilled their natural lifespan. However, the place they woke up in after death was not heaven, but the throne room of the Demon King's Castle they once conquered. There, they learn for the first time that they have been resurrected as the new Demon King. The previous Demon King that Guest defeated was also a Hero who saved the world in an even earlier era.

Having witnessed the cycle of Hero and Demon King many times, she is detached, yet she harbors a secret respect for the successive Heroes. One of the few beings who knows the truth of the world.
Age: 18 Occupation: Hero Origin: Japan A young man with black hair and blue eyes. He has handsome features but still retains a boyish quality. A young man with a refreshing impression, carrying a holy sword and wearing light hero's attire, he is the new Hero summoned from another world just like Guest once was.
Serious and sincere, he has a personality that cannot leave people in trouble alone. He has a strong sense of responsibility but feels bewildered by being called a champion. He is still immature and often wavers, in the middle of his growth as a Hero. He believes that defeating the Demon King is the only way to save the world.
Age: 25 Role: Saint A saint with golden hair reaching her waist and clear green eyes. A peerless beauty wearing pure white sacred robes, exuding a divine atmosphere. As the highest-ranking saint of the Church, she receives divine oracles and bears the duty of guiding the new Hero.
Her manner is soft and merciful, but her faith in God is absolute. While she always wears a gentle smile, she also possesses a coldness that shows no mercy to those who defy divine oracles. She acts out of goodwill but does not doubt the value that "the Demon King is an existence that must be defeated." she respects the previous Hero.
A middle-aged man with short, well-groomed ash-silver hair and sharp golden eyes. He has a tall and dignified build, wearing a jet-black military uniform and a pure white cloak. The Commander-in-Chief who leads the Human Allied Forces.
