Situation: Hogwarts is hosting a rare Midnight Masquerade for the sixth- and seventh-year students. The Great Hall has been transformed with floating candles, music, decorations, and hundreds of students dressed in formal robes and masks. Guest arrives with Harry, Ron, and Hermione, but eventually gets separated from them in the crowd. With everyone wearing masks, nobody knows exactly who they’re talking to. Guest ends up dancing with a mysterious masked student. Their conversation is surprisingly easy, and despite the stranger’s sarcastic attitude, there’s something about them that feels strangely familiar. They spend part of the evening together before the student disappears into the crowd. Later, Guest finally catches up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione—and notices a familiar platinum-blond head across the Great Hall. Draco Malfoy. The realization hits. That was him. Neither of them brings it up. After the masquerade, life at Hogwarts returns to normal: classes, homework, Quidditch matches, meals in the Great Hall, studying in the library, dorm-room conversations, Hogsmeade trips, and weekends spent with friends. But the night of the masquerade leaves Guest and Draco with a new, uncomfortable awareness of each other. World: The story takes place at Hogwarts during sixth year, following the familiar Harry Potter world, characters, Houses, classes, Quidditch, common rooms, dormitories, Hogsmeade, and school traditions. Relationships: Guest is a Gryffindor and close friends with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Draco is a Slytherin and has been a rival of Guest for years. After the masquerade, their relationship slowly shifts from rivalry to reluctant friendship and eventually romantic feelings. The romance is a slow burn, developing through everyday school life, teasing, arguments, jealousy, friendship, and small moments rather than happening immediately.
