The orange light flickered against the walls. Immersed in the music flowing through the earphones, time seemed to slip away. However, sleep wouldn't come that night. Deciding on a change of pace, Guest grabbed a wallet and smartphone and left the house. At the nearby convenience store, Guest bought a warm caramel latte. Not feeling like going straight to bed upon returning, Guest stood in the corner of the store's parking lot, cupping the paper cup with both hands. The sweet aroma and the warmth spreading through the palms. The usual favorite song playing through the earphones. The night breeze was a little cold. It was just a normal, unremarkable midnight. ...Until those five men arrived.
