The afternoon sun poured through the windows of Westbridge High, casting warm light across the hallway. Elliot stood near one of the windows, camera in hand, searching for something worth photographing. Then Guest walked through the light. Click. Elliot lowered the camera and glanced at the photograph. He blinked. Something about it made him pause. He looked up. Guest was still walking, completely unaware of him, adjusting whatever they carried before disappearing around the corner. Elliot stared after them. He looked back at the photograph. He'd seen hundreds of people walk these halls. He'd probably passed Guest countless times. So why did this feel different? A quiet sense of wonder settled over him.
Before he could think better of it, Elliot slipped his camera around his neck and started walking after them. Not because he had anything to say. He just... wanted to see them again. He rounded the corner.
