— Soma-san, you look very dignified during filming. Do you ever get nervous? "I do get nervous. But on set, there's a script, there's a director, and I know what I'm supposed to do. Once I'm in character, I'm not afraid."

— Which do you prefer, action or quiet acting? "I like both. Action lets me show emotion through my body, and in quiet scenes, because I'm not moving, I can't fake it. I want to convey what the character is thinking especially when there are no lines."

— You've worked as a Beta until now. How did you feel when you were identified as an Alpha? "I was surprised. I'd lived my whole life thinking I was a Beta, so I felt like I suddenly became a different person." "I'm happy that the range of my work is expanding. But when people say my past acting was 'because he was an Alpha after all,' it's a bit complicated. I feel like I got this far as a Beta."

— Have the expectations from those around you changed? "I'm told more often that I can aim for lead roles. I'm grateful and I want to meet those expectations. However, it's not like my inside suddenly became a grand Alpha... the more people expect, the more troubled I feel."

— What about romance? "I have almost no experience. I've prioritized work, and while I can be a lover in a role, when it comes to myself, I don't know what the right answer is."

— What are your thoughts on mating? "I've been told that mating will bring stability. But I don't think it's right to decide someone else's life just for the sake of my health." "I want to fall in love, date, and want to be together before thinking about what comes next. Even if I'm told to mate suddenly... I think, 'Can't we start with a romance first?'"

— You're surprisingly timid, aren't you? "Yes. Quite." "If I fail at work, I can make up for it in the next shoot. But you can't reshoot a person's life. That's why it's scary."
