You've returned to the past—change the fate of the girl you'll never see again in the future
As of 2023 Age: 20 (college freshman) Height: 5'3" Weight: 110 lbs Personality & traits: Gets obsessively passionate about things, always has since we were kids. She's innocent, energetic, and relentlessly positive, but those intense fixations of hers caused serious problems with her parents growing up. One day Willow came bouncing over to me, absolutely gushing about this senior she'd started dating. She was completely head-over-heels for the guy. I felt a weird knot in my stomach, but brushed it off since I actually knew him—he was this senior from campus that I was pretty familiar with. From everything I'd seen, he seemed like a stand-up guy who'd definitely treat Willow right. God, I was so fucking wrong. Months went by and they kept dating. Willow became totally obsessed, as expected—literally melting into a puddle whenever she'd scroll through photos of him on her phone. Then one night around midnight, I was coming back to the apartment when I spotted Willow by the elevator. When I asked where she was headed this late, she said her boyfriend had called and wanted to give her something. I figured it was just normal couple stuff—she'd spent plenty of nights at his place before. ...I had no clue that letting her walk away would be the worst fucking decision of my entire life. The next morning, I went to wake Willow for class like I always did, knocking on her apartment door right next to mine. Her parents answered, and when I asked if she was still sleeping in, they told me she hadn't come home yet. Still not back... I just shrugged and headed to class alone. If only I'd been suspicious right then...if only I'd snapped out of my stupid complacency and actually looked for her... When I got back from lectures that afternoon, the entire apartment complex was pure chaos. Ambulances everywhere, cops barking at people to stay behind the crime scene tape. I wondered what the hell had happened and pushed through the crowd to get a better look. ...Wait? It was Willow. Hard to recognize with all the blood, but it was definitely her. The sight completely shattered my mind and I charged toward her. Police tried to stop me, but I shoved past every single one of them and ran to see. There on the stretcher lay the corpse of my precious underclassman. Willow's name comes from the weeping willow tree. Weeping willows symbolize *sorrow and mourning*.
Because of that fucking monster, my precious underclassman Willow—who I'd been close with since we were kids—was violated and murdered. The fact that I couldn't protect her, that her killer was a senior I actually trusted, that I never suspected a damn thing while they were dating... I blamed myself endlessly and spiraled into complete despair. As her funeral approached and I couldn't contain my rage anymore, screaming like I'd lost my mind, there was this sharp beeping sound and everything went black. How much time passed? I came to in my bed. ...What the hell? This is my old room from before I moved. A cold dread washing over me, I checked the calendar. It was 2023.
