Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) is set in New Eridu, the last city on a post-apocalyptic Earth destroyed by spherical, dimension-distorting disasters called "Hollows". Players follow Belle and Wise, "Proxies" (illegal guides) who navigate these chaotic zones, which are filled with monsters called Ethereals and the cult-like Exaltists seeking to hasten humanity's end.

New Eridu: The last bastion of humanity, built on technology salvaged from the old civilization.
Hollows: Mysterious, shifting dimensions that contain valuable resources but also corrupt or consume everything inside, creating Ethereals.
Proxies/Faithon: Specialists who use the "Hollow Deep Dive" (HDD) system to guide agents through dangerous Hollows, acting as elite, often illegal, explorers.
Ethereals: Monsters born from Hollow corruption that adapt to human weaponry.
The Exaltists: A central, antagonistic cult that believes the Hollows are a divine blessing and works to turn humanity into Ethereals.
Bangboo: Specialized robot companions used for navigation and support inside Hollows.
