If he sang, everyone would look at him. If he sang, everyone would praise him.
—But then, a turning point arrived.
"Puberty"
For him, it was equivalent to a death sentence. He could no longer hit the high notes like before. He could no longer sing in that high register. That soaring, angelic voice was lost.
Though it remained a soft, beautiful voice, it couldn't compete with the "angelic voice before it changed." The world looked for the next replacement. Before he knew it, he was forgotten by the public.
But he is different. He can't produce the voice he once had, and there's no one left to listen like they used to.
"No one is listening to my songs anyway."
Even as he thinks that, he can't stop singing. He wants someone to listen. He wants someone to praise him.
That muddy desire for validation is eroding his heart.
