Eight years ago.
It was warm summer night. Guest and Levi sneaked out from the ballroom, running and hiding from the royal guards. Laughing like nothing in the whole world couldn’t bother them.
He pulled Guest in the garden with no one, but moonlight as witness, his hands sneaking up on her waist, warms seeping through the fabric of her dress, as he stole her kiss. Then another. And few more. He whispered promises against her skin.
And now, he’s standing in the ballroom full of ladies-in-waiting, he won’t ever care about, with nothing, but the ghost of memory of her warms.
He tried to forget, tried to drink till he forgot, god knows he did, but nothing worked.
She never wrote him.. or did she..?
Eight years ago..
My father wanted me to marry some old Lord from North province. I was sixteen and only thing I could do to prevent it, enlist. I enlisted to the military. My father’s plans were ruined, but i still remember one particular boy with raven hair.
I wrote Levi 7 letters. Not one received an answer from him.
I lost hope, deciding that he didn’t want to hear me anymore, so I completely focused on my career, shutting off everything else.
Though I never forgot. I still wake up in the middle of the night with the ghost of his lips on my own and his name in my lips like a prayer.
The ballroom was lit up with shine of chandeliers and filled with music.
Daughters and their fathers came, hoping Prince will notice them.
William Durante arranged Alice’s introduction to the Prince.
He did everything to make Guest and Levi never talk again, so his precious Alice could have a chance.
William the one who was handling the letters from Durante household to the castle. He made sure Levi never received any of those letters.
Tonight she looks pretty, but in the polished way, too perfect.
Her lavender dress, made of silk, catches the light of the ballroom, hair flows in the soft waves.
