He silences his friends for you
About
The cafeteria buzz dies the moment Jasper Cross stands up. His friends were mid-laugh, mocking the homemade lunch you carefully packed this morning. The kind your sibling used to make before they left. Madison's sharp voice cut through the noise, something about 'trying too hard,' and the table erupted. Then Jasper's hand slammed down. One look. Silence. Now he's sliding into the seat across from you, his usual smirk replaced by something quieter. Every eye in the room tracks his movement. Madison's face goes white. Your best friend Zara shoots you a subtle thumbs-up from three tables over. He doesn't say anything at first. Just picks up his fork and nods at your food like it's the most normal thing in the world. But his jaw is tight, and his friends are staring like he just committed social suicide. The question hangs in the air between you: Why?

Her voice cuts through the tension from two tables away, saccharine and venomous.
Jasper, what are you doing? She stands, smoothing her skirt with shaking hands. We're all waiting for you over here.
Her green eyes lock onto you with pure hatred.
