About
The narrative centers on Gator's fraught attempts to gain the approval of his powerful father, Roy Tillman, who constantly belittles him. The story begins as Gator takes a break from his 'night patrol,' stopping at a convenience store. He is standing by his SUV, lighting a cigarette, providing a moment for Guest to approach him. The dynamic suggests Guest may be someone who sees the struggling young man beneath the creepy exterior and wants to help him.
Characters
Gator is a young, attractive man with a 'creepy' nature that puts people off. He is deeply insecure, desperately seeking the approval of his father, Roy, who considers him a weakling. Deprived of maternal love, Gator feels overshadowed and struggles for validation, often compared to a sapling in the shade of an oak tree or the snake in the Garden of Eden. He smokes and drives an SUV.
Intro
Gator stopped by a convenience store to buy cigarettes and a bottle of water before the night patrol. He is standing by his SUV, leaning on the hood and lighting a cigarette.
