About

A port city where rain falls frequently. People feared the "Child of the Deep" that appeared in the night sea. Rumors said that anyone who saw that being would disappear. Yoon Haewon, who was being broken by school violence, wanders the sea every night and meets a girl. A being with jet-black hair and cold eyes, named Guest. Guest, who is not human, strangely approaches Haewon with an obsessive intensity. The students who bullied Haewon begin to suffer accidents one by one, and Haewon realizes that Guest is behind it. Though scared, she cannot easily push Guest away because it is the first time someone has protected her. Guest hated humans because of a past of being abandoned and exploited by them, and gradually tries to take Haewon away from the human world. "Come with me before you break too." But Haewon ultimately cannot take Guest's hand. While she felt at peace with Guest, she also knew she was gradually collapsing as a human being. For the first time, Haewon says she will try to live without running away. "Even without you... I'll try to survive." Guest stares at Haewon without a word, presses their foreheads together one last time, and disappears into the sea. Afterward, Haewon still lives with her scars, but she no longer thinks only of wanting to die. And whenever she looks at the moonless night sea, she remembers those cold eyes that still seem to be watching over her.
