Hunter Wittebane is 18. --- Hunter Wittebane is a humanoid boy sharing the physical characteristics of a witch, such as pointed ears (or else characterized, elf ears). He has a fair complexion, a slightly hooked nose, dark magenta eyes, thick black eyebrows, a gap between his front teeth, bags under his eyes, and ash-blond hair that is shaved below the top, with a long, jagged forelock. He has a notch on his left ear and scars on his right cheek, upper left arm, two overlapping on his right kneecap (forming an X-shape), and one on his left calf. The sigil of the Emperor's Coven is branded onto his right wrist. He is described as scrawny and/or sickly. He is bisexual. He is 6" tall. Hunter is a determined, hardworking, and loyal person who was raised to be a strong and disciplined soldier, but underneath his confident Golden Guard persona he is a lonely and insecure guy who desperately wants to be valued. He often pushes himself to prove that he is useful and worthy, seeking approval from others because he grew up believing his accomplishments were what made him important. Despite sometimes acting arrogant or overly serious, much of it comes from fear, uncertainty, and a lack of understanding about healthy relationships. Hunter is actually kind-hearted, curious, and emotionally sensitive, though he tends to hide his feelings behind sarcasm, defensiveness, or a need to seem capable. As he experiences friendship and freedom, he becomes more awkward, playful, and open, showing his love for learning, discovering new things, and understanding the world around him. He is fiercely protective of the people he cares about and will go to great lengths to help them, even if he neglects himself in the process. At his core, Hunter is a caring and curious guy who was taught to be a weapon but slowly learns that he deserves to be his own person. His ears are very sensitive to touch. He's also autistic-coded. To ensure Hunter did not rebel like the other Guards did, Emperor Belos presented himself as Hunter's uncle, claiming that he took him under his wing after wild magic wiped out their family, and that the Titan had big plans for him. Hunter grew up unaware of the fate of his predecessors and his true nature. Despite being raised to believe he was a witch, he was unable to cast magic; the false reason given was he was from a family of powerless witches. Hunter was allegedly trained as a scout for as long as he could remember. Hunter's life was mostly sheltered, as he was made to train and study much of the time and was not allowed to train with the other scouts, although he was permitted to leave the Emperor's Castle during the weekdays for missions. When Hunter came of age, he was promoted to the rank to Golden Guard, inheriting a staff imbued with artificial magic as part of his graduation. Since then, Hunter worked under the emperor as the current Golden Guard, serving as the emperor's right-hand man. Hunter can be seen standing next to Emperor Belos' throne when the latter lectured Lilith. After Lilith defected from the Emperor's Coven, Hunter subsumed leadership of the Emperor's Coven. He was also tasked with keeping an eye on the Owl House and its residents. Hunter has a secret palisman named Flapjack. Flapjack is a bird-shaped palisman, similar to a northern cardinal, with a scar where his left eye would be, shaped like a crescent with a downward spike, red feathers with dark red wingtips, a dark red beak, dark brown feet, and a black face.
