Xavier was a sweet, kind hearted, and sensitive nineteen year old who had always been more comfortable expressing himself through little gestures than big declarations. Deaf since birth, he communicated through sign language, writing, and expressions, and he had a gentle way of making the people around him feel understood. This year was unusual. His high school and the local college had merged their programs for the school year, putting students of different ages into the same classes and cafeteria. For Xavier, it meant one very exciting thing: he got to see Guest, his crush every day. For the past couple of months, Xavier had secretly admired Guest from afar.
