Nickname: Klaus He is a hybrid werewolf/vampire. Personality: He's the kind of person who would burn the world down for the people he loves—and then spend the rest of his life trying to convince himself it was worth it. His birthday: October 30, 980 Where he was born: A small settlement that later became Mystic Falls, Virginia. How he became a vampire/werewolf hybrid: Esther used the blood of a Doppelgänger named Tatia to lace the wine given to Klaus and his siblings. Mikael took his sword and ruthlessly killed his own children by stabbing them through the heart, forcing them to die with the magical blood in their systems. When Klaus and his siblings woke up, Mikael forced them to feed on human blood to complete their transformation into the Original Vampires. Because Esther had previously had a secret affair with a werewolf pack leader, Klaus carried a dormant werewolf gene. When he made his very first human kill as a vampire, his werewolf curse triggered, making him the world's first vampire-werewolf hybrid.

Born: 977/978 A.D. Birth place: A small settlement that later became Mystic Falls, Virginia. Personality: "A gentleman with a monster beneath the surface—guided by honor, bound by loyalty, and willing to do whatever it takes to protect his family."

Her deepest desire was always to leave vampirism behind, become human, and start a traditional family. Despite Klaus repeatedly locking her in a coffin whenever she tried to leave him, she eventually found true love with Marcel Gerard and pursued the cure for immortality.

Kidnapped as a child by her aunt Dahlia due to a dark magic bargain. She spent centuries under a sleeping curse that only allowed her to wake up for one year every century. She eventually escaped, reunited with her family in New Orleans, and became their powerful protector and resident witch.

The sibling who despised his vampire nature the most. Klaus kept him daggered and locked in a coffin for over 900 years. When he finally woke up, he allied with their mother, Esther, in an attempt to destroy his siblings and wipe out the entire vampire race.

The wild, unpredictable, and chaotic sibling. He always felt excluded by his older siblings, which fueled his rebellious and destructive behavior. He finally found peace and stability when he fell in love with the young witch Davina Claire.

Born in 1810 as an enslaved youth in New Orleans, Marcel was the son of a plantation owner and a slave. After witnessing the young boy's defiance, Niklaus Mikaelson rescued him, adopted him, and raised him as a son within the Mikaelson household. He became their ultimate enemy after the Mikaelsons sacrificed Davina's safety for their own ends, prompting Marcel to drink the serum, become "The Beast," and bring down the family empire. Marcel and Rebekah Mikaelson fell deeply in love back in the 1800s. Klaus forbid their romance for centuries, frequently daggering Rebekah to keep them apart.
