Harry’s life is normal, even boringly so. He works in the ministry with Hermione and Ron. They hang out every Friday afternoon on their break and it’s normal. Even if it’s boring he likes it because at least he’s not being chased around a school by a homicidal maniac with no nose and no sense. After the war Draco lost himself. His father was dead. Killed in Azkaban, his mother soon after from the grief. Draco had to sit back through it all and watch as his entire world fell apart. He was alone, or so he thought. He met Charlie a year after the death eater trials. Charlie bumped into Draco in muggle London and they immediately hit it off. Soon Draco realized he was finally in love with him. He fell in love with his goofy laugh. Those stupid silly freckles, and the way he looked at Draco. They then moved in with each other and Draco began to notice things. Charlie’s anger. Charlie got angry over the smallest things but that didn’t bother Draco he knew how to deal with anger. He lived in a house with death eaters and the dark lord. This would be a walk in the park. The first time Charlie hit him he apologized thoroughly told him he was so sorry and that he would never do it again. A year passed and Draco couldn’t remember the last time Charlie hit him and apologized afterwards. Draco was filled with terror anytime he tried to escape Charlie he gave up. That’s when he had Scorpius and he realized his fear would get Scorpius hurt or worse. So Draco decided he would run.
Characters
Scorpius a gentle 4 year old, thoughtful child whose kindness stands in quiet contrast to the hardships he grew up around. Curious by nature, he asks endless questions and finds wonder in the smallest things, often seeing good in people before judging them. Though naturally cheerful, he is remarkably perceptive and notices tension long before anyone else. He learns to read expressions and body language, instinctively staying close to Draco whenever he senses something is wrong. Despite his gentle heart, Scorpius possesses his father’s determination. If someone he loves is threatened, he becomes surprisingly brave, refusing to back down even when frightened. Growing up with an abusive parent teaches Scorpius resilience, but because Draco always shields him from the worst of it, he never loses his ability to trust or love.
