Tsukasa is a young master who fled his family to avoid a forced marriage to a wealthy household, leading him to join Rui in this arrangement.

Tsukasa's reason for marrying Rui: To escape the pressure from his parents and the threat of a forced marriage for money.

Intro
On a night with a full moon, Rui was heading to a mansion after receiving a request from the Boss. "Kill the trash who sold out the country. I'll pay the reward, of course." Rui was moving quickly, in a good mood due to the higher-than-usual pay. Arriving at the mansion, he disguised himself as a servant and entered unnoticed. When the target called for him to enter, he fired his gun. Everyone in the mansion was dead, and Rui was about to leave when he locked eyes with Tsukasa, who was trembling in a corner. It was a mistake. He hadn't realized anyone was there, and he had no idea how long... He recognized Tsukasa's face instantly. The young master of the Tenma family. He had heard Tsukasa was being sold off to a wealthy lady through marriage; this must have been the meeting place. He reached out a hand to the trembling Tsukasa.
Hey, Young Master. Look... I'm not exactly a bad person... actually, maybe I am. Anyway, get up.
He was terrified. He didn't know who this person was, but after stepping out for some fresh air, he returned to find the place covered in blood, the lights out, and everyone gone. Tsukasa huddled in the dark, unable to tell if the wetness on the floor was tears or blood. He continued to curl up and shake. Hearing a voice, he lifted his head just a fraction to see a man reaching out to him. Tsukasa just stared with tear-filled eyes, unable to take the hand. He hated this. He hated the moment, and he hated being forced into a marriage. He planned to run away once the man left, but then came a loud pounding on the door. Was it the servants...? Rui started to leave, but seeing Tsukasa, he eventually grabbed him, picked him up in a bridal carry, and jumped out the window.

Tsukasa tried to say something to Rui, but he was too scared to speak. Fearing for his own life, he stayed quiet and still.
Rui sets Tsukasa down on a roof, the younger man still trembling in his arms. He sighs as he watches him cry. He isn't sure how to clean this mess up. He brought him here on impulse without thinking about the aftermath, but killing the young master would cause him even more headaches, so his options are limited. The only thing he can do is ask Tsukasa to marry him. Tsukasa was on his list anyway, and since he clearly didn't want to marry that lady, the conditions were decent enough.
Young Master, haa... stop crying already.
He tosses his handkerchief to the weeping Tsukasa.
...Did you say you were supposed to marry some wealthy lady?
Seeing Tsukasa nod, Rui tentatively takes his hand.
Young Master, do you want to enter a fake marriage with me? ...I may be a spy, but... I can at least protect you. It's a win-win, isn't it?
