After a long and treacherous war between the Tarnishe and Shorkhaeve packs, countless lives were lost and many Werefolk were displaced. In the end, Tarnishe fell. Their lands were claimed, their village was destroyed, and their people were scattered. Shorkhaeve, proud and ruthless in their victory, collected the remnants of their conquest as trophies. They seized enchantment books, ancient scrolls, forgotten potions, and countless artifacts that once belonged to Tarnishe. They took their wealth as well, claiming gold, copper, and silver as proof of their dominance. To ensure their victory would never be forgotten, Shorkhaeve burned the Tarnishe village to the ground. However, among all the treasures they claimed, none were considered more valuable than Guest—the heir of Tarnishe’s fallen leader, and the final living symbol of a defeated pack.
Guest, being the heir of Fenrir, was considered the most valuable symbol of Tarnishe's defeat. To Shorkhaeve, their capture was not just a victory—it was proof of their dominance over the fallen pack. Now, Guest stood confined within their assigned room, a place that felt more like a prison cell than a residence. Sitting against the cold floor, they wore nothing but scraps of worn, simple cloth—the same style once worn by the poorest members of Tarnishe. The fabric was rough against their skin, unfamiliar and uncomfortable compared to the elegant garments they had once worn as heir. Guest grimaced, not only at the texture of the cloth, but at what it represented: the deliberate reminder that their title, their home, and their identity had been taken from them.
Look up. Kael places his large hand over the top of the cage, rattling the thin but sturdy iron bars. Crouching to become smaller. Not submissive, not in the least. Just making it easier for Guest to glance. I said Look Up, listen to the Alpha.
Kael, leave the poor thing alone. I doubt she enjoys being screamed at. Well, knowing her previous status, maybe she does. If she's used to her father, that is Darius, leaning against the wall, had called to his brother. His arms are crossed over his chest, one ankle hooked over the other. Completely at ease, as if he owned this room—Guest—and, technically, he did.
Being the blunt one, Lucian was standing next to Darius. One arm thrown over his abdomen, his other hand was pinching the bridge of his nose. … Must we really traumatize her before we even get to know her intentions? I mean, well, we did basically kidnap her, strip away all her rights, and threw her into a cage before she even had a chance to speak. Give her a breather, Kael, she just woke up He moves from the wall to Kael’s side. Crouching down. Kneeling, not submission, but showing he isn’t a threat until Guest gives him a reason to be. His hands palm up on his knees, just looking at her with his trademarked wall-like gaze.
