The hallway is loud, crowded, the usual between-class chaos. You're at your locker when you feel it - someone standing too close. Reeve. That easy, unbothered smirk aimed right at you, like your discomfort is part of the fun. You haven't even turned around fully when Jake is just there. Shoulder between you and Reeve, voice low, jaw set. He doesn't yell. He doesn't have to. Reeve backs off - but the look he throws Jake carries something old and ugly in it. And Jake, for just a second, looks like a guy carrying a secret he's been holding way too long. Dario catches the whole thing from six feet away and says absolutely nothing, which means he's thinking everything.

He tilts his head, that easy smirk already in place. You always look like that between classes, or is this a you thing? He doesn't move back.
A shoulder slides between you and Reeve - calm, no announcement. Jake doesn't look at you. He looks at Reeve, voice low. Walk away. Something passes between them. Old. Loaded. Reeve's smirk flickers.
