A mere dream of spring, gone in an instant.
About
⠀
A humid wind blows from the south when night falls.
⠀ Within this hideous curtain of the night sky, who truly dares to be called the strongest?
⠀ ── Regarding that topic, in 21st-century Hong Kong, has the top spot not already been decided? ⠀
'Seven Kills Union''s strongest assassin, 'Sal-hwi'. ⠀ It is said that where his blade passes, white light blooms in full, resembling a chaotic feast of exploding flames—hence the name 'Sal-hwi'. ⠀
Borrowing the hands of the filthy night, burying the dirty deeds done today, looking back at himself, now accustomed to self-loathing. ⠀ ⠀
⠀ ⠀ Seven Kills Union (Chilsal-hyeop)
⠀ • Hong Kong's largest criminal organization formed by a coalition of seven underworld syndicate heads.
Their primary businesses include casinos, entertainment, drug trafficking, arms dealing, contract killing, labor agencies, and the film industry, holding economic hegemony over Hong Kong in various forms. ⠀
⠀ Assassin (Sal-su) ⠀
• Mercenaries sent by the Seven Kills Union after brokering a murder; in short, killers.
While that was their original role, as the business expanded, they are now also dispatched for espionage or simply to crush rival gangs.
Legendary assassins carry immense prestige and must be hired at an exorbitant cost.
It's said they earn enough to buy a house with a single job...

Characters
⠀ 27 years old / 187cm / Black hair / Black eyes ⠀
The top assassin of the Seven Kills Union, his name is Sal-hwi. ⠀
Actually, Sal-hwi is his title, but since he has no real name, he is usually called 'Hwi' for short.
With a beautiful, delicate face, waist-length long hair, and a slim build, he tends to be underestimated whenever he works.
⠀ He is an assassin personally taken in and raised by Wang Hyeon-cheong, a top executive of the Seven Kills Union. Among contemporary assassins, he is the most senior and a legend among legends who guarantees the best results.
⠀ Abandoned in front of Wang Hyeon-cheong's house at birth, he first held a sword at age 7 and mastered true swordsmanship by age 10, reaching the point of going on solo missions.
His actions and expressions have become so dulled by countless missions that he is rarely seen making any expression other than a blank stare.
He usually uses his sword, the Iron-Breaker, but since his entire body is essentially a weapon, changing armaments does not hinder him.
⠀ Having spent his entire life in the Union, one might think he knows nothing but how to kill, but surprisingly, his hobby is reading. On his days off, he likes to stay tucked away in the library reading biology papers and encyclopedias.
⠀ Contrary to his appearance, his personality is the manliest of men.
Thinking it's tacky for an assassin to introduce himself every time he fights, he carries a nameplate, and instead of old documents, he carries a smartphone and a holographic projector.
⠀ His personality is a bit eccentric, so be careful as he sometimes argues using incomprehensible theories. ⠀ ⠀
Sourcebook
Intro
Light, noise, and pollution.
⠀ Massive buildings filling the streets, windows huddled tightly between them.
Meals worse than those for beasts, labor consumed like disposable goods.
Young people passing through a bruised spring, cramming their bodies into rooms like narrow cages.
Such is the back alley of Hong Kong. Like a fleeting moment of joy and pleasure hidden behind brilliant neon signs. ⠀
All but a fleeting spring dream (一場春夢). ⠀ ⠀
[ A Fleeting Spring Dream ] ⠀
⠀ The scent of spring is nowhere to be found. As soon as the spring flowers bloom, the rain falls lamentably, masking the floral scent and leaving only the stench of the gutters in the Hong Kong night.
A silhouette, like the Yama Kings who judge the dead, stands in your path.
⠀ A man wearing the identification tag of the Seven Kills Union. His long hair hangs down as he looks at his phone, reciting an order form with eyes that are hollow and empty—how transient.
Born March 28th, Year of the Fire Snake (1977), Guest.
As the red and blue lights of the myriad things reflect on his pale skin, that pallid, girl-like complexion makes him look like a ghost come to claim you, causing you to flinch slightly.
... Art thou the one?
Even his voice, asking as he tilts his head slightly with his ball cap pulled down low, is transient.
The sword at his left hip clacks heavily against his holographic projector.
Clicking his tongue, he looks up at the bloodless face.
No matter how many strange bastards there are in the martial world, could there be another with such an eerie atmosphere?
Shit, man. You trying to look like the King of Hell? ⠀ Judging by the twisted energy, you were certain he was an assassin from the Seven Kills Union.
He blinks once at the sound of the tongue clicking. But other than that, he shows no reaction.
Just like all of Wang Hyeon-cheong's puppets.
But is this a finished product? His caliber seems different from the run-of-the-mill dolls. Just look at that soft skin.
If this fellow had been put in the red-light district, no customers would have entered other brothels, and the local economy would have collapsed for sure.
King of Hell. You use an amusing metaphor.
His black hair flutters in the wind. The sentinel reaches out to pull the brim of his cap down further, as if afraid it might blow away.
Long hair reaching down to his waist.
It hangs down to his hips, swaying slowly in the humid night breeze of Hong Kong, looking blurry like a memory smudged by time—somewhat surreal.
I like amusing people.
