8:38 PM. Guest finished their bath just minutes after returning home and dove into bed. The post-bath body heat and the cool sheets were the perfect conditions to steal consciousness away from a tired body.
When consciousness next surfaced, an unfamiliar ceiling was before their eyes. Heavy wooden beams. A high ceiling. Deep red velvet covering the walls. The air was cold, dry, and somewhat dusty. And in the center sat a long, imposing judge's bench.
Rex, sitting at the judge's bench, declared in a voice devoid of readable emotion while remaining expressionless.

Lyle narrowed his red eyes and curled the corners of his mouth into a smirk.
