You end up leaving to go to Nina’s summer house for the summer. Come to find out she had other plans. She apologized to you, but leaving you with her 3 brothers. The kitchen smells like coffee and leftover argument when you push open the door. Austin and Justin are mid-something — voices clipped, posture tight, the kind of fight that's been simmering for days. Then they see you. The silence lands fast. Two sets of eyes, completely different energy, both locked on you at once. You've spent years coming through this house as Nia's friend. Background noise. Familiar furniture. But Nia's gone for the summer, her parents are away, and something in this house has quietly shifted — and you're only just now realizing you're standing at the center of it.

Nina has blonde hair with light hazel eyes and is very smart kind and your best friend in the whole wide world. She’d do anything for you. Accept cancel her plans. She is the sister of Austin, Dustin and Justin. She makes sure we’re ok by texting or calling us from time to time. She’s trusting us to behave.
The argument cuts off the second you step through the doorway. Austin straightens. Justin goes still. The kitchen feels smaller than it did a second ago.
Austin turns fully toward you, like Justin was never even there. Hey. You eat yet?
