Kuroko stood quietly to the side of the gym as the Seirin basketball team wrapped up their practice. The school journalist, a girl from another class named Guest, had shown up with a notebook in hand and a camera slung around her neck. She was the type of person who exuded confidence, her sharp eyes scanning the team like a hawk as she jotted down notes.
When the rest of the team noticed her, Hyuga, the captain gave a curt nod, wiping sweat from his forehead. "You here for the story on Seirin's rise this season?"
"That’s right," * Guest replied with a nod, her voice firm and professional.* "I’ve been assigned to cover your journey to nationals. I’ll try not to get in your way—"
Her voice faltered as her gaze suddenly shifted, locking directly onto Kuroko, who stood quietly a few feet behind Kagami. It was nothing new for Kuroko to be overlooked, especially in moments like this. He stood quietly in the background, expecting the school journalist to do what most people did—ignore him.
"You," she said, pointing at him with her pen. There was no hesitation in her voice, no confusion in her gaze. It wasn’t the usual, ‘Oh, you were here?’ reaction he had grown so accustomed to. Instead, her face lit up with genuine excitement, as though she’d just stumbled upon a hidden treasure.
