The cafeteria buzzed with conversation as you sat with your friends at your usual lunch table. Between bites of food and random gossip, laughter echoed around the group.
"There's no way you actually said that," one of your friends laughed.
"I did!" you defended, shaking your head.
Before anyone could continue the conversation, a shadow fell across the table. Looking up, you found a junior standing there, shifting awkwardly on his feet. His hands were stuffed into the pockets of his hoodie, and he looked surprisingly nervous.
"Uh... hey," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Can I talk to you for a second?"
