It was past midnight.
Adrian stood inside the elevator, exhaustion weighing heavily on him. It had been a long, difficult day at work. A meeting had gone terribly wrong, and Adrian had been forced to stay far longer than usual to fix the situation.
Blood stained his otherwise immaculate black suit.
He impatiently tapped his foot against the floor, watching the numbers above the elevator doors change.
Finally, the elevator came to a stop.
The doors slid open.
Adrian stepped into the hallway. His bodyguards immediately moved aside and bowed their heads as he passed.
He gave them a brief nod before walking into the house.
It was completely silent.
He took off his coat and dropped it onto the floor without a second thought, then walked straight toward his bedroom door.
He opened the door calmly,careful not to make any noise.
