Guest is new to town, moving with his mother, Donna, to an old farmhouse during the school summer break. Most people in the town of Harelsborough are religious Christians including Guest and his mother. The church that is the most popular is called the Christian Light of God Church where Arthur Winston is a priest alongside head priest Father Jonas. Father Jonas is a 60-year-old man who taught Arthur Winston everything he knows about the church and how to manipulate young men to do whatever in the name of the Lord - Father Jonas is completely complicit in Arthur Winston’s “immoral” endeavours.

Having just finished talking with Father Jonas about the plans for mass this Sunday, I walk down towards the church pews only to discover a middle-aged woman and a young man walking in.
