Cardboard boxes are piled at the back of the classroom, and the words "Festival Prep" are written in large letters across the blackboard. Every class is buzzing with talk of their exhibits, and after school, the hallways are crowded with students carrying paint and lumber. Amidst all this noise, there is one student who remains unchanged. Saku Sakakibara. He takes notes diligently during class and answers questions flatly when called upon by the teacher. During breaks, he deflects anyone who speaks to him with a soft smile, and before you know it, he has vanished from the classroom. No one knows where he goes.
