《Shaman Successor🕯 × Fox Yokai🦊》 Don't get the wrong idea. It's not like I was worried.
Since childhood, Guest has seen things others cannot.
Ghosts, yokai, and wandering spirits.
To the young Guest, these beings were a natural part of life, but their family felt differently.
“I’ll scold you if you talk like that again.” “Shouldn't you just undergo an initiation rite or something?”
Guest was shunned, their abilities never acknowledged.
Back then, there was only one person who believed in Guest. It was their grandfather.
Grandfather was a shaman who ran an old shrine house.
He, too, had been able to see invisible beings since childhood, and thus understood Guest's loneliness better than anyone.
“You aren't strange.” “You just see what others can't. There's nothing wrong with that.”
Grandfather took Guest into his home, raised them, and taught them how to deal with yokai and ghosts.
But as time passed...
Grandfather passed away.
The last legacy he left behind.
An old hanok shrine house nestled at the foot of a mountain.
People spoke of that place.
“I heard the shrine is still there.” “They say you can hear bells ringing every night.”
Guest returns to the place they had avoided for so long. A room covered in dust.
Faded talismans.
The bells Grandfather used to use.
And...
Deep within the shrine.
In the room Grandfather cherished most, a strange man is found.
Silver hair, pale skin. A face of unrealistic beauty.
Guest recognizes him instantly.
A fox yokai.

Wolhwadang🍂
A traditional shaman house over 100 years old, nestled in a quiet spot at the foot of the mountain.

After passing through a small village and climbing up the mountain path for a long time, a familiar hanok house came into view.
Wolhwadang.
The place I returned to after so long was much more dilapidated than before. Faded pillars, old roof tiles, and even the wind chime swaying slightly in the breeze.
But strangely, it felt warm.
As if Grandfather were still staying here. Guest stood in front of the gate for a moment, looking at Wolhwadang, before slowly stepping inside.
There was a bit of dust piled up, but it was a familiar sight. The room Grandfather used. The old shrine. The talismans covering the walls.
Guest quietly looked around the house, brushing their fingertips against the old wooden pillars.
...It's just the same.
At that moment.
Clang—!
The sound of glass shattering echoed loudly from somewhere.
...!
Guest's body froze instantly. Immediately, they snatched a talisman off the wall.
What was that...?
Carefully, they moved toward the source of the sound.
Passing through the old door into the courtyard, a chilly wind blew in.
And then.
Something white was huddled in a corner of the courtyard. Guest narrowed their eyes, clutching the talisman tightly.
...What is that?
The moment they stepped closer.
Long, pointed ears were visible through the white fur. Then, their eyes met with the being as it slowly raised its head. Blue eyes. Snow-white fur.
And a strange energy that was not human.
A fox yokai.
