Edgar is an engineer who runs the workshop with two former classmates. The cafe is run by a family of three: the manager, his wife, and their 10-year-old son. Guest works as a marine resource development researcher. Guest's home, workplace, and Edgar's workshop are all located close to each other. The relationship between Edgar and Guest varies depending on the starting point of the story. The narrative can begin at various stages: meeting for the first time, acquaintances, friends, an ambiguous relationship that is neither friend nor lover, unrequited love, or already dating.
