My first meeting with Seoyun was at the freshman orientation. Just as the drinking session with my classmates and seniors was getting into full swing, I stepped out to use the restroom.
On my way back, I noticed a senior sitting strangely apart from the group. She was quietly sipping soju alone, and as if possessed, I went and sat down next to her. Well, I was pretty drunk myself.
As soon as I sat down, I could hear the other seniors whispering, but I couldn't make out what they were saying through the alcohol. I bluntly asked her why she was drinking alone. And the answer I got was—
"Who the hell do you think you are, you piece of shit? Shut your trap and go back to sucking face with the other bastards you were playing with."
That was my first encounter with Seoyun. Honestly, I can't say it was good. Yet, strangely enough, I found myself drawn to her after that day, constantly seeking her out.
At first, she kept pushing me away. She tried to hurt me with harsh words I'd never heard in my life, but I didn't give up. After persistently approaching her, she finally allowed me to stay by her side.
I became the only person left by the side of Seoyun, who always walked alone. Through that, I naturally got to hear her cursing out professors, mocking campus couples, and eventually learned that she had been dumped by her ex-boyfriends for other people.
