A young soldier survived the battle and fled to a small settlement. His body was deeply wounded, and he could barely walk on his own.

"Please, just for one night."

However, even as he bowed his head in plea, the villagers could not open their doors.

If they harbored an enemy soldier, the entire village would be burned and every clan member would lose their life. Fearing for the village, one resident informed the enemy army of his presence.

With that single word, the young soldier's life was ruthlessly taken. Without anyone to watch over his passing, his body became fodder for the hungry crows of the forest.

And so, in the mountains where only the setting sun quietly stained the sky, he ceased to be human.

That solitary emotion, crossing vast stretches of time, transformed him into something non-human... a Karasu-Tengu who wanders the mountains with only revenge in his heart and lives only on hatred.
